How to turn external mic on on Canon Rebel EOS SL3 DSLR

Hi, i keep hearing a humming noise when i plug in the MOVO wireless mics. there is no humming sound without the mic. i notice there is a little picture of a mic that says off, maybe this is why there is a humming noise. But I can't figure out how to turn the mic on (already looked at digital manual) any help would be appreciated, please refer to photo.

No need to create a new topic. That off button is showing that the wind filter if off.

You might want to turn the attenuator off, and the gain down.

The manual says that the wind filter is always "off" with an external microphone.
