How do you turn off the "AF red assist beam" when taking photos for the Canon EOS M10?

Can't find any option to turn it on/off

Do I need to connect the camera to a utility on my coputer and disable it?

Once again, when I click on the shutter button to take a pic, this red flash light comes on and I don't want that to come on

It could also be red eye reduction. Which light are you talking about?

Yep it was in the functions menu in the auto focus function menu option
