HDR Gone on EOS R5 Mark II

I have been using the HDR in camera option for many years across Canons and other cameras and got this new one thinking it is going to really be awesome but HDR is not an option here! Has anyone figured a workaround? There is HDR PQ but as far as I can tell it does absolutely nothing. I do Real Estate photography just for reference. Canon we need this back!

I've always used Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) and combined my bracketed shots in post. It's not as quick with the results, but you have more control over the final image. You can also go to "Shooting mode/exposure", which is tab one in the orange camera menu, and set 2, 3, 5, or 7 shots in your bracketing sequence and set an order that the shots are taken. I've just always found this to produce better results than in camera and worth the extra effort 🙂

As for HDR PQ, there are several things you have to keep in mind before using it. You and the people viewing the images must have HDR equipment and software. An HDR monitor that supports PQ, video card capable of rendering HDR, and editing/viewing software. Most modern systems have a capable video card(s). It also helps to use an expanded color gamut in post, like "Wide Gamut" or "ProPhoto", depending on the post editor, along with the proper monitor profile. I use Wide Gamut. It's easy for me to see the difference in DR when switching between my HD and HDR monitors with both HDR PQ Raw and HEIF, although the Raw PQ files are better than the 10bit HEIF.
