Firmware transfer failure EOS R7

mdm13f

I have been trying to update to the 1.71 firmware and continuously get a failure to transfer. I have switched SD cards, no attachments, full battery, and fully reset my camera to the app. Anyone have recommendations or remedies for this issue? Thank you.

Are you using a Full sized SD Card or a Micro SD Card in an adapter. Discontinue the use of adapted SD Card they cause all sorts of problems.

Full size SD

Are you downloading the firmware to the SD Card or wirelessly sending it to your camera? The SD Card may be a better option.

I have tried both.

How are you trying to update the firmware with the SD Card? What error message is it giving you?

To add to Demetrius..,

1 - You must unzip the file and save the FIR in the root directory folder.

2 - Only have one card in the camera.

3 - The touchscreen will be disabled.

Yep I’ve done all that but thank you for the input.
