I am trying to figgure out a way to control my T3 (not T3i) wirelessly with EOS utility from a phone or tablet. I know the T3 is not wireless, but I should be able to get a wireless receiver+transmitter to make this happen, right? If anyone has experience doing this, I would appreciate any help or advice.

I haven't tried it myself, but CamRanger gets good reviews:
If you want to view photos on your tablet you can try using an Eye-fi card, shoot in jpg, and view using a photo viewer on your tablet. But I don't think it's going to be as smooth and seamless as you'd like it to be. Even the Wifi equipped cameras like the 6D haven't ironed out all the wrinkles you want.
