I have a Canon Rebel t7i. I recently purchased a wireless lavalier microphone. Whenever I connect it to my camera and use it for a video, the video's audio contains a loud whine that only cuts out when someone is speaking into the microphone. The audio sounds great when I use the microphone in a video taken by a phone or a laptop, so I don't think the microphone is defective. Any ideas on how to get it to work well with my camera?

You might want to check if there is an automatic gain control (AGC) setting and disable it. Use manual level controls. Often during quiet segments of audio AGC circuits will increase the gain and the noise that is normally not audible.

Thank you for your response! I will try that.
