EOS Rebel T6i Trouble connecting to PC via WiFi/LAN

Qleth
Apprentice

Please help. I've been trying to connect my camera to my PC over Wifi for the last hour.

My PC is wired into the router sending out my Wifi signal.

I can connect the camera to the wifi, but when I launch the EOS Utility I get a perpetual startup screen asking to connect an EOS camera.

I'm at a loss here. What am I doing wrong?

Hello Qleth,

The wireless feature of the EOS Rebel T6i allows you to do a certain number of things. This camera does not support transferring images to a computer via WIFI, unfortunately. You can save images you have captured to a computer by connecting the camera to the computer with Interface Cable IFC-200PCU. Basically, that's just a Canon USB cable, which you don't necessarily have to have the Canon brand name specifically. You can use a locally purchased cable from any retail electronic shop. You can also use a card reader to transfer images. Make sure that it is a SD/SDHC/SDXC card reader to be compatible with your memory card. You want to make sure that the WIFI has been disabled on the camera prior to connecting it to your computer with the USB cable.

My laptop has a card slot which allows me to insert the card and follow directions to download photos. Found it by accident.
