EOS Rebel T3 image doesn't take up full screen

I cannot figure out how to get a full screen view instead of the two lines being there, Any suggestions?

Looks like Aspect Ratio is set to 16:9.

I looked in the T3 manual and can't find how to change the aspect ratio in the T3, but I did find it in the T3i manual.

Are you sure you have the T3 and not the T3i? Here is a Canon Knowledge Base article on changing the aspect ratio in the T3i. It may be the same as the T3 provided it can be changed at all.
