EOS Rebel T100 SD card error

I had a rebel camera and every time I turn it on, it’s giving me a SD card error. I have replaced the SD card. I have also blown air into the port to make sure there was no debris. With the new SD card I am still getting the same error. Does anyone have any suggestions?

First of all what Rebel camera do you have. Canon has released multiple cameras with the Rebel name. What kind of SD Card are you using a Full Sized SD Card or a Micro SD Card in adapter. Your camera was designed for full sized SD Cards not adapted SD Cards those cause all sorts of problems. What capacity is the SD Card certain cameras won't work with SD Cards larger than 32GB (SDHC). So if you're trying to use a 128GB (SDXC) SD Card for instance the camera cannot use it.

I have the rebel T100 and yes I am using the correct SD card. I had the same SD card in I used the camera on Monday and Thursday I was getting this error message.

Hello, how would I know the switch is locked? What switch are you referring to.

Look at it. On the left side there is a little thing that slides. The label of the card tells you which position is locked.

The card's lock status would not keep it from being detected.  This is likely an issue with the reader, slot contacts or the camera's main board. 

Canon still services this body however the cost for shipping, inspection and repair could exceed replacement cost.  Canon has the T100 with lens refurbished for $199.
