Thanks for your response. I was able to get through to tech support and came up with an acceptable solution- since they no longer make parts for this model I'll get 20% off on replacement camera 🙂

Hello,
Can you please confirm your camera model? We have a couple models you could be talking about. There should be a letter before or after the 100.

Thanks for your reply. Don't have the manual with me. Only thing I'm seeing on the body of the camera is EOS Rebel SL1. There's also a number: on the bottom: DS126441. Checked inside the battery compartment- no number. Removed the lense- again no number. This was the entry level Canon DSLR around 10+ years ago. Wondering if there was no letter assigned for the original camera.

Hi again,
Yep, Rebel SL1 is the model. I'll update that. As for support, while this camera is no longer serviced, we do offer technical support for it still. 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666) Monday to Friday, excluding holidays.

My first call was to 800-652-2666. Automated response asked for camera model. When I replied EOS Digital Rebel the response was that this model is no longer supported for technical support. Do I need to say a different name?

When calling, you'll need to state the full camera name, the EOS Rebel SL1.

The good news is that I got through and currently on hold. What are the hours (and time zone) for technical support? Thanks again for your help and I'll let you know how this plays out...

They currently close at 6pm EST, but will help everybody on hold at the time of closing, so stay on the line if you can!

There isn't an operating system you can replace or upgrade, like with computers.
What shooting mode are you set for. In P, Tv or M you can set ISO and shutter speed. In the full Auto modes you are limited.
