EOS R8 autofocusing on its own

Question. My R8 started to auto focus recently. Not like the lens auto focus feature (that is enabled on the side of the lens) but on the view screen/through the eyehole. The point of evaluation highlights green on its own sometimes (not when I press the button part way).  Sometimes I have to zoom way out and then in to “reset” the green box

Have you had this happen to you before?

Just a guess, but it will only take a second to check. See if "Preview AF" has become enabled. Page 480 in the users manual.

Do you have your AF Assist beam turned on bu any chance?

Steve, it was ON, I just changed it too LED Enabled (so it still fires with the flash).  Ill see if that changes it.  Thank you
