I have noticed a number of files play back on camera just great, but occasionally when downloaded to PC, one or more clips can not be opened and get a code 0xc0003E8C. Nothing fancy about 30 fps video. Fast sd card. I have checked the clip properties and it is an mp4 file. Tried taking out the sd card and inserting it back to camera. Tried deleting file on PC and downloading the corrupt file again. This has been happening through out all of my camera software updates. I have updated to 1.6 and still need a fix for this. Otherwise, camera is unreliable and can not be used in a for hire video setting

Can you tell us what video settings you have set on the camera? Two settings that can make a problem for windows are HDR PQ and C-Log. Using HDR PQ encodes the file using H.265 compression which Windows does not support in the OS. Several common video editing apps do support it on Windows, but not the standard media player.

I think that you nailed it. This should be the problem.

I will never understand why people with little video experience immediately jump into formats like CLog.
(I know why: YouTube.)

Agreed, most would be better to learn how to tell stories and shoot sequences before C-log
