Attempting to connect to the camera to iPhone for the first time. New camera. I am able to connect via bluetooth and connect the phone to the camera via the SSID of the camera. When the app opens to connect the wifi it times out. Reset the comm option with no success. Downloaded 1.8 firmware with no success. Called Canon and the lady on the phone was just reading from the manual and was no help at all. Suggestions?

Does that include contacting Canon Support?

I called and spoke to someone who was just reading out of the manual. Their suggestions were all of the things you suggested. They had no other suggestions. I purchased a SD card to lightning interface to the iPhone for now, which works well, but is not the long term solution. The only other option available I think would be to send the camera back to Canon. I read on other posts about a defect in the wifi card and they were replaced under warranty, which I may look into.
