I have a podcast that I host online. I use my EOS R5 as my webcam with the Elgato Cam Link 4K because I am able to record internally while using it as a webcam through the hdmi connection.
I would now like to use my EOS R7 for my webcam but for some reason I am not able to record while it is connected to hdmi? Any suggestions?

I believe that you cannot record internally when you enabled “Clean HDMI” output. The assumption is made that you are recording externally, not internally.
I believe the R5 has the same behavior. That’s how it works.

Makes sense but why would it work on my R5, my R6 and not the R7?

Connerpoulter,
In your Product Manual under Shooting and Recording >Movie Recording>Other Menu Functions>Other Function#7>HDMI Display, it says that when the Display is set to both the camera and the external device, "Card Recording is Not Supported."
