I just got the R7, and I notice that no matter what I do, the high speed continuous is always faster than the high speed continuous +. I have already reset the settings two times and done some research and still cannot figure out this issue. Please help

Greetings,
What is the brand and model of lens you are using the with the camera when this behavior occurs?
What is the brand and model of the storage media you are using?
Have you tested with more than one lens?

Hello, I am using the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 mk.ii lens. I am using both a sandisk 64GB and 128GB pro sd card. I have tried it with other lenses and still cannot resolve this issue.

Are you using a Canon brand adapter?

Greetings,
Review this PDF, look for drive system (left column) and then see the caveats for max continuous frame rates.
I just reviewed the manual but it doesn't have the same footnotes.
If you visit the R7s support portal, click on product info, tech specs and then scroll down and expand drive system. There's a PDF that has information on high-speed continuous shooting with foot notes**
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-r7
The mkII version of the lens you're using should be able hit up to 15 mechanical and 30 FPS electronic frame rates. I noted that having anti-flicker or servo AF enabled decreases these numbers.

Enzo,
A user named, Trevor addressed the difference between high speed continuous and continuous + in this thread back in 2023, here:
In that thread, he wrote:
"Remember that the faster the shooting rate the faster your cards have to be to clear the buffer, or you will get the camera freezing while it does so, which can be annoying."
In an article at digital-photography-school.com, author Megan Kennedy wrote:
"Unfortunately, most camera burst modes are not unlimited. As you take photos, your camera’s buffer – where images are stored before being added to your memory card – fills up. Once the buffer is full, your burst mode will stop working (at least until the buffer frees up space, at which point you can start shooting bursts again)."

Perhaps that is what you are experiencing.

It could be, I am just really confused why my high speed continuous is faster that the high speed continuous +. I just got the camera today and the issue has been happening since I first turned it on. I will read this article and do more research.

Hello, Enzo!
Sorry if I missed it in your post, but which version of the sandisk 64GB and 128GB pro sd card are you using?
Please provide all of the info on the card.
