EOS R7 Does EVF go blank when connected to a video capture card?

Hello! I was wondering if i buy a Micro HDMI to HDMI wire with a video capture card and connect it to my mac, would the EVF turn blank when i connect it? I am planning on taking photos of an airshow this weekend and hoping to get the behind the scenes of photographing the airshow. Thanks!!

Gear: EOS R7, EF-RF adaptor, Sigma 150-600 DG OS HSM Contemporary

Check your manual and see if it addresses something called "HDMI Info disp". It may be in the section under shooting movies.

I have a T8i, and it's in the menu settings.
