EOS R6 Mark II how to display the histogram when I want it in the EVF

I am new to this camera and EVFs in general. Is there a way for me to see a brightness histogram in the EVF when I want to see it? I can't seem to make that happen. Thanks you for your help!

The key to understand is that the INFO button on the back of the camera cycles through the possible displays for the LCD and viewfinder depending on which display is active.

So for a first step, fold the LCD so that it is facing in to the camera and all you can see of the LCD is the black plastic and Canon logo. This forces the camera to use the viewfinder (EVF). Pick up the camera and locate your thumb over the INFO button, then look in the viewfinder. Each press of the INFO button will cycle to the next available display option. By default the camera has three different display options for the viewfinder.

Of the three possible displays, the second and third can be configured to show the histogram, and other information.

Make sure you check the VF info/toggle settings as they are independent of the Screen info. settings.

How to configure your shooting info display is not that complicated.  But, because of the number of options available it’s best to read about it in the User Guide.  Note, there are different settings for the EVF and the LCD.  Start with this page. The page number, 328, is at the bottom of the page.

Notice the list of options near the top of the page.  You have the option to setup as many as five custom displays.

Thanks so far for pointing me to the user guide which I have read and watched multiple videos on the set up. I have done all of this. Perhaps I should refine my question.

How do I get the brightness histogram (that I have set up as an option in all the menu settings you have referenced) to actually show up in the EVF when I want it to. I suspect there must be some way to toggle through the info setting options that one has enabled in the menu settings. Perhaps there is a button or dial to turn to rotate through the different info panels that one has selected. Can you advise on this. I only want to check the histogram occasionally and not have it displayed at all times in the EVF. Thanks.

The camera allows you to configure more than one display configuration.  You switch between them by pressing the [INFO] button.

You can set up two different ones that look almost identical. One with the histogram and one without.

You are going to need to roll up your sleeves and read.

Download the manual on your computer.

"You are going to need to roll up your sleeves and read." Remarkably unkind response for someone who has read the manual and still is confused on the point of how to make the different panels display in the EVF. Pushing the info button does not cause the info to display in the EVF in my case which is why I am stuck. This is why I have approached the Canon community for help.

I stand behind what I wrote.  The most relevant pages from the manual have even been posted for you.  The rest is up to you.

[EDIT] I suggest that you visit a local camera shop for assistance.

p4pictures, OMG thank you so much for answering and helping. I had read the manuals multiple times (clearly that was not working for me), but what was missing for me is real user experience which YOU kindly provided by giving me the distinction that I did not understand which was: "Make sure you check the VF info/toggle settings as they are independent of the Screen info. settings." That was the missing piece for me and now that I have that set up, the INFO button is finally "working" for me and I can get the histogram up in the VF and customize just what I want.

I want to acknowledge you for taking the time to actually advise me in my transition from my beloved but outdated 5Ds. The new technology has some paradigm changes that for me has required some advice from actual users rather than manuals as to how to approach best use and aspects of new functions that I was unaware of. So thank you again for your help, kindness and willingness to actually help with your experience. 😊

I can see that you have responded also to my pending question on focus point migration and I am headed there next. I hope you had a nice holiday weekend!
