I am a club and event photographer who works 6 nights a week. I have a canon R6 and I kept having freezing issues, where the camara becomes none responsive and i have to take the battery out before it works again. This occurs every night. Depending on the club, up to 8 times an event within a 1hr time frame. I sent the camera to be repaired under warranty and while it was gone I bought the 6d mk ii. Withing the first 25 mins of using it , it began to freeze up as well. unlike the r6 which had an error code , this just has a dark grey screen and yet again i have to remove battery to reset. I use all canon original gear. Is anyone else having same problem?
If this persists I will have to return the camera for a refund.
Update. i also got my 6d back and withing first day it started freezing again but this time not showing an error code.

I have bad news, it doesn't get better, I have now had 3 R6 mkii and all do the same. it the movement from light to dark that seems to frazel the processor and it can't keep up. Another thing I noticed is that it's worse when using flash. Focusing as well is an issue but not the problem. I think it just compounds into the processor not being able to handle all that info. My new issue is the newer RF lens having issues finding focus. except when using servo mode. this applies to the 25-105 f2.8. all my other lens don't have the same issue. Sadly I am do knee deep in lens that it would be to costly to switch, also the 28-70 f2 is to good a lens lol, I just adapt and have come to live with it. I am thinking of going to the R5 mkii, or the R3. for Video my friend did have over heating issues and just ended up going with Sony, I think he also said codec format, file size was also an issue. Do you have any problems in the day without flash?

I always use focus modes they work fine, It's a processor thing I believe, it's just annoying because the 6d could handle it lol

Your 6D doesn’t have Eye AF Tracking. You are filming in the dark with bright flashing lights.
I never asked about video frame rates or your memory cards. There wasn’t any point to going down that road.

I don't use eye AF, that was one of the things I assumed caused a compound reaction.

Also I don't film, I am predominately photography only. I don't know anyone with this issue that films, most only have issues with overheating. Also all my cards are v90's sd cards both prograde and lexar. my camera has been sent to be looked and 'fixed' multiple times. 1 time it was classes as corrupt software but still did the same when I got it back. I even tired to see if batteries were the issue. literally no fix for it. one thing I did notice. I do an some events with and external flash and that makes it a lot less likely to occured, even when using eye ef
