EOS R6 II: spot on sensor will not go away

Hello. I noticed this spot on the bottom left corner won't go away after several swab cleaning. I have a feeling this spot has been there since I purchased the body back in Feb and have not noticed since it is in the corner of frame.

I have cleaned the lens with camera wipes and the camera sensor using 24mm swab with cleaner a few times. I use the swab one time only and have done it 3 times. Should I bring it in to Canon to have a look?

Greetings ,

Maybe it's because I'm on my mobile device but I'm not seeing a.dot.  Can you put an arrow or a little circle around it for us please.

Thanks. I saw that but wasn't sure If that was what you were referring to.  Do you have another lens to test with?  That should confirm with certainty if the issue is with the camera or a lens.

Stop the lens down to f/16 and take a shot of clear sky. If it is a sensor spot they usually become more distinct at small apertures (due to light rays becoming more parallel).

It’s definitely from the body. I have 2 lenses & it appears on both. Also, I can see it in the digital viewfinder.

Greetings,

@John made an excellent suggestion.  However, now that you've tested with two lenses, cleaned the sensor still see the same anomaly, I'd want to have Canon look at it.

Please create or log in or into your MyCanon account.  Register the camera and initiate a inspection/repair request.

If you're shipping your camera in, make sure you package it well and insure it.

Edit: I looked more carefully under a bright white light and I do see something on the top corner. Should I do the swab again or take it in to have Canon inspect it?

Here is a shot at f40. Looks like a grim of some sort. I tried to visually  spot it with the naked eye, but can't see it. Since the anomaly is on the bottom left of the photo, I assume it should be located on the top left corner when looking directly at the sensor??

Looks like there is a new particle on sensor. They are very easy to remove in post, so if it was me I wouldn’t be trying multiple sensor cleanings by touching the sensor.  Could do more harm than good. If a rocket blower can’t remove it I would leave it.

Did your sensor swabs come with sensor cleaning fluid? If so, did you use it?

Cleaning solution has always been my last resort, but I have had to use it before on my DSLR's. I put a drop on the swab, then use an old swab with a PEC-PAD attached to remove any residue. You can use a little pressure but still need to use a light touch.

For whatever reason, I haven't had to swab the sensor on my MILC's (3 years now). Usually the built in cleaning operation and a Rocket blower works, but I have had to use a sensor brush a few times.
