Enable exposure simulation and then activate the histogram in the shooting information settings. Specifically,

  • go to the shooting menu, find "Exposure Simulation," and enable it.
  • Navigate to "Shooting Info. Display" and select the histogram display settings (brightness or RGB, large or small).
  • The histogram should then appear in the viewfinder when you look through it.

Hello skknight,

I assume that you too have the EOS R6. The setting that you are looking to adjust can be found in the [Shooting info. disp.] menu item. This is found in the red camera menu #7. In order to access all menu items, make sure that you set the camera to one of the Creative modes such as, [P], [Av], [Tv], or [M]. To turn on the [Histogram], go into [VF info/toggle settings]. Select the [Customizing Information in the Viewfinder] hyperlink in the manual link that I provided HERE for more explanation on this.
