If you have the RF24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM kit lens, then it might be one of the lenses that doesn't work with multiple exposures. Initially multiple exposure mode on the EOS R6 (Mark I) and EOS R5 (Mark I) only worked with selected lenses. There used to be a list of compatible lenses on the Canon website but I cannot find it anymore. It is possible that the RF 24-105mm STM lens is not compatible with the multiple exposure function, and if that is the case you will see a message on the camera LCD when you try to enable multiple exposure shooting.
update: I just checked the manual for the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM. At the end of the manual it says that multiple exposure shooting is not possible with this lens and the EOS R, EOS RP, EOS Ra, EOS R6 and EOS R5.

If you have not already downloaded a copy of the User Guide, here is a link to R6 Support Page.
https://www.usa.canon.com/support/p/eos-r6
Search the User Guide for “multiple”. The instructions begin on page 206 in my copy.

You will need a USB-C to either USB-C (Android & iPhone 15/16) or USB-C to USB-A and a suitable lightning to USB-A adapter.
