Where did you purchase the camera from?

Sometimes there are issues with the registration website.   You can try calling Canon Support at 1 (800) 652-2666.

Same issue for me with a new EOS R10 & 18-150 kit purchased at B&H. Reports s/n already registered but does not show up with my other Canon products. To whom is it registered, and how? Chat told me I need to pay a $5 joining fee plus a $48 monthly subscription to reach customer service. Registering is not worth that. If I have to pay for such a low level of support this will be my last ever Canon product. Thanks for that secret phone number. I’ll see if it works.

Hi Gene368,

I'm not sure who you contacted but it definitely wasn't B&H or Canon.  There is no joining fee and no subscription.  Please make no mistake.

I would start by calling Canon Support.  1-800-652-2666.

New gear.  If you have even one inkling that the product you received was sold to someone else, returned and resold to you, I would probably contact B&H and request an RMA.  That would be up to you ultimately.

I've purchased from both companies, but have never had an experience like what you are describing.
