EOS R5 & R5 Mark II both freeze with Angelbird CFB cards

I have an Angelbird CFB 512GB card which freezes with my R5 and R5 II - both with latest firmware. Card new from Angelbird - it was a replacement for the same card which literally fell apart so I got a replacement under guarantee. The old card worked fine.

The new card freezes the camera. Nothing happens (no menu, nothing) and camera freezes until I drop the battery out and re-insert. I have ten other CFB cards (Prograde, Nextstorage, Lexar) - and they all work when I use this immediately after dropping out the battery. No accessories attached.

I have tried resetting the camera to factory defaults. I have tried formatting the card on the Mac (the card reads and writes fine on the computer). No joy.

Anyone got any advice - I will also contact Angelbird direct.

Greetings,

Very strange.

I have 5 AngelBird cards and all have worked flawlessly in my R5 C.  I know many, many users are using AngelBird CFB / SD cards which are are working well in their R5's /mkII's.

All of my CFB cards are 512GB.  It would be helpful if you could give us the firmware versions you're running on your body's and the capacity of the cards you're trying to use please.

To add on to @shadowsports' point where did you purchase these CFB cards from. There are places that sell counterfeit memory cards. This has been seen in this forum many times. So its not unheard of receiving counterfeit CFB cards.

If you got the card directly I would guess you got a bad one, contact Angelbird directly.
