So here we go ...another issue with the R5 M2.
If i am in the camera mode and push the red button on the right side of the camera video runs fine.
If I switch from camera to video and try to engage the video using the shutter button it freezes in frame. I dontt think its over heating as I can sit in my air conditioned home and it freezes. Have to go through the whole turn it off take batteries out etc. Help !!!

Greetings,
I'm less inclined to believe that this is an issue with the R5 Mark II, and more inclined to believe it has to do with user or hardware configuration. I don't recall hearing about this behavior from others.
Please start by telling us the version of firmware you're running on your camera?
Next tell us about the memory cards you are using. Brands, models, types, speed?
What lenses do you own, and does this behavior occur with all or just some mounted lenses? Are you using an adapter, and if so is a Canon brand?
Have you tried performing a factory reset? You may save your current settings to an SD card and perform a reset. Now perform the same steps. Is the behavior reproducible?
I suspect we'll be able to help you determine the issue. If not, Canon support can with certainty. 😉
Looking forward to your reply.

Also, what video mode and frame rate are you using to capture video.
What brand, type, and storage capacity memory card(s) are you using to save video?
If you use Intelligent Auto shooting mode, does the issue still exist?

Greetings,
Thanks for the reply. So we're at 1.0.2 which is one back from the current available firmware, which is fine.
Please remove any SD cards from the camera. Test with one CF Express type B card installed freshly formatted in camera. Ensure only single slot recording is enabled. Do not enable relay record, proxy, etc.
Do not restore settings. Go with 100% defaults.
Put the camera into [A+]. Turn the camera on photo mode, press the video record button. Count to five. Stop it. Pause.
Put the camera into video mode, half press shutter. Do we still have a lockup?
If so, we may request additional info.
