EOS R5 Mark II "Pre Continuous Shooting" icon in "Quick Controls" menu is the same "On" or "Off"

For my R5 Mark 2 I have set Drive mode to any of the continuous shooting modes.
In the "Quick Controls" menu I have also added the option "Pre Continuous Shooting" to the layout.

• Unlike other icons the "Pre-Cont Shooting" icon doens't show any "On" or "Off" text according to its status.

So basically the issue is that it is not clear whether the feature/option is "On" or "Off" from the Quick Controls menu.

For the Canon team can you add the On/Off text to the icon based on its status?

Suggested UI (e.g with On)

I think other camera have "Pre Continuous Shooting" option as well so is not just for the R5 Mark II

I don’t have a camera with me to confirm what the symbol represents,   It may not be directly associated with drive mode.

I believe it represents the “ Preview AF” setting. If not that, then it is associated with “Pre-Capture” mode, which is joined at the hip with Preview AF.

The presence of the Pre Continuous Shooting Icon in the viewfinder or on the LCD is the indication that the function is active. When switched off the icon disappears, reducing visual clutter from the display.

If you add it to the quick controls display as you described then yes it appears as an icon with no status change when the function is active or deactivated, until you select it then you can change it.

Yes but in the context of the Quick Coltorls menu it would help to show On/Off text on the icon itself.

Also I think the Quick Contorls should directly toggle the option.

It makes little sense to me that we need.to.

1. Highlight PCs icon

2. "Select"

3. Menu appears in which tochoose On or Off

4. Choose option

5. "Select"

If the icon is highlighted we should be presented directly in Quick Contorls with the "On" and "Off"...kinda like it happens when we highlight Eye Control (which alredy bears the Off text if disabled, no need to go in VF)

That’s every icon works on the Quick Control screen.  It is a shortcut to the menu screen to modify a given setting, instead of needing to go into the menu system.

Not true.
Eye Control, Silent Shutter via Quick Controls directly allow set the option On /OF.

They are not "shortcut to the menu screen" as you say.

Canon desing team has offered direct On/Off access via Quick Controls to some option and not others.
Perhaps there's a reason but is nonetheless an inconstancy that users have to pay for.

So "Pre-Continuous shooting" could be the same as "Eye Control" and "Silent Shutter" and offer direct On/Off as my OP suggests.

(Perhaps other options are the same and have not been given "direct access", need to check, don't have time right now).

I realise that to match other icons the "Pre-Continuous" icon in Quick Control would have to be in two state, the following;

ON and Off

.

I see now that we were talking about two different types Quick Control screens.  Both are referred to as Quick Control screens.
