Hello, I've got a r5 mark II. I'm able to program a button to switch between crop modes when I'm customizing the photo mode. I wanted to do the same thing for the video mode but realized there is no such option to enable or disable movie cropping. Wondering if anyone else has a work around or whether canon can add this option in a future update? Currently just have it programmed to a custom menu, but that still takes 4 button presses to get it done. Thank you

I reallllllly hope Canon sees this.
I am literally thinking about switching back to Sony because of this.
Please fix this Canon!!

One possibility, is to use the M-Fn button to switch to a custom shooting mode, and then program the custom mode with the same settings as you normally use, but have crop mode enabled. Each press of the M-Fn will follow a sequence of the current mode > C1 > C2 > C3 > back to current mode. However if you disable C2 and C3 from selectable modes with the "restrict shooting modes" custom function, then M-Fn simply toggles between C1 and current mode.

That’s a somewhat ok workaround but still a nuisance because I shoot run and gun in a variety of video frame rates and it still creates excess button pushing.
This is a small step in the right direction, but could be easily solved with a firmware update
