Morning,
I have a R5ii that I am still getting familiar with. I have the histogram displaying in the viewfinder. It is in gray and truncated to the left. What settings do I need to get the histogram in color and use the entire width of the histogram window?
thanks in advance
Terry

To show the histogram in colour you need to switch to the RGB display from brightness which is the default.
Go to the 9th page in the RED menus on your camera and select Shooting info. disp. on the page that is then displayed is the setting for the histogram display. You can choose for RGB or Brightness for the histogram as well as choose from the small or larger sized display. Below is the link to the manual for this.
https://cam.start.canon/en/C017/manual/html/UG-03_Shooting-1_0430.html
If you have a gray band on the right hand side of the histogram display, then this indicates that you have set your camera to shoot in HDR PQ mode. You can find this setting on page 3 of the red menus on your camera.
The manual page for this is at this link and make sure to expand the caution note as the third bullet point is relevant. https://cam.start.canon/en/C017/manual/html/UG-03_Shooting-1_0140.html
Note that if you only shoot in RAW then there is no need to enable HDR PQ since the RAW file captures the same range regardless of the HDR PQ setting.
