Greetings,
I have a problem with the video naming of the Canon eos r5 mark ii.
The name of the videos I shoot is as follows: “K_0004C147H250225_110309EJ_CANON.MP4”
Such long names do not make my job any easier when editing in adobe premier.
I want to see the name in a concise way and I have to do it manually every time I load the videos on the computer.
I want it to simply number the video names like “A_0001.mp4”.
I could not find the setting for this on the machine and in the user manual, I would be very grateful if you can help me with this.

Koray,
I don 't know what kind of computer you have, but if it's a Windows machine, why don't you just go into Windows Explorer, right click on it and rename it yourself before you ever start editing it?

"I want to see the name in a concise way and I have to do it manually every time I load the videos on the computer."
I already stated that in the sentence above, if you read my message properly...
And that's exactly what I want to ask: Why do I have to go through extra trouble!
If you're okay with this nonsense of the machine, that's fine Steve, but I'm not okay with it!

You did not look very hard in the user manual:
However, you don't have a lot of flexibility, it seems the most you can do is get rid of the "Canon".
If you want to make your feelings known to someone who might be able to change it, go to the Canon USA website and give feedback:

I've been begging Canon for years to implement these long names -- and I'm glad they finally have. I'm sorry it affects you like this, but really, it shouldn't be an issue for you -- you should be logging descriptions on all your clips, and editing based on that.
The issue with short names (like MVI_0001.mp4 etc.) is that eventually, on a large project, you will get duplicate file names. You might think this is not an issue f they're in separate folders, but unfortunately it really is. Sooner or later you will need to re-attach proxies, or re-attach media clips, and when it asks you where MVI_0001.mp4 is, you will find yourself seriously stuck. This is what the long names are about -- since the name includes the camera ID, and the date and time, duplicate names are impossible.

I've tried to make this work, but unfortunately, I haven't had any luck. You can change the "Canon" at the end, but you still have to enter five characters—not three or four, it must be five. I'm glad Canon introduced the cinema line feature in the R5M2, but as a hybrid camera advertised aiming largely at non-film-making individuals, such as content creators, small businesses, or solo operators, it can be quite frustrating. This is especially true for small to medium-sized projects that don’t exceed 999 clips and where users often don’t have a dedicated digital technician to manage everything. The excessive length of the file names drives me crazy when I'm working on my laptop. It becomes difficult to navigate. It's not practical for the majority of customers who purchase this model, it's the R5 Mark ii, not the R5C Mark ii, right? I understand that this feature is beneficial for filmmakers, I hear you guys, but not all the elements here are needed all the time. Filenaming is not rocket science, being able to select what information you need to add to the filename, in the meantime, getting rid of those you don't need, that's what a good structure looks like to me, especially for a hybrid camera.
