Hello,

I have been having this issue with my Canon EOS R50 Mirrorless camera. When I connect to HDMI using micro hdmi slot to show on display of church TV for a choir shoot, it said this

Cannot record to card when display is set to LCD + EXTERNAL VIDEO DISPLAY while connected via Hdmi. I was shocked to see this. The purpose of buying the camera was to do shoots and display. I couldn't find any solutions till now In any forums or videos. I prompted chatgpt many times but couldn't find any solution. It displays on both the screens but no recording.

Well i bought a camera monitor (Lilliput a7s) by saving some money which I can use output hdmi of the monitor with camera settings being only external monitor display to connect the tv while I can use the monitor for display. Genius right?. But the problem is tht I am not getting clean hdmi in Tv.

I clicked on info which did remove some objects like shutter, f and iso and etc. but I am still having the rec in top right and autofocus thingy. Well u might say u can use manual focus. But i want to use autofocus. I couldn't find any solution to this problem also. The monitor can switch off the objects which present like the graph and volume meter but not camera stuff.

Greetings,

This is expected.

Card recording is not performed with [HDMI display] set to [Live View shooting+External monitor]. Camera menus and image playback are only displayed on the screen connected via HDMI.

The HDMI output resolution and frame rate are automatically adjusted to suit the movie recording size.
