purchased R5 mark ii online 1 Dec 2024. It shipped before 5 Dec (release date for firmware V 1.0.2)
As shipped, the camera is using Firmware Version 1.0.1. I am trying (unsuccessfully) to update to V 1.0.2.
I tried to update using EOS utility and then I tried to update using the CF-express card. In both cases, the error message seems to be saying that V 1.0.2 is >older< than V 1.0.1 and the camera will not go back to an "earlier" version.
Any suggestions?

I agree that after removing the 2nd card the update was able to work. Until I removed the SD card it kept giving me errors that the update was older than v1.01. I had even formatted both cards with a low level format. Removal of the SD card and just using the CF express B card is what worked for me.

Thanks. It worked when I can removed the CF and formatted to SD card exFAT.
I didn't have any of these issues with R5 Mark 1
