What does Windows File Explorer report, or is that what you are showing?

Looking at them on the camera? That is a potential problem.
It is still not clear whether or not you are copying the files to a computer before you attempt to open them. It really does not sound like it, I hate to say it.

0 bytes, ASUS/ windows 11 does not like canon, used Lightroom for years to edit video tones and styles plus DPP to import the files, now windows 11 is taking a wizz, its just explorer but each app doe the same, saying that the LR and DPP APP does not do video is moot, it does do video and its quiet capable. No need for a card reader as windows does not see large file on the R3 for importation. Would be good to get a canon Employee to admit to they hiccup.

its NTFS on the SSD the 512gig card is ExfAt, not an issue, its just how WINDOWS 11 interacts with the R3, worried its a a busted things but i'm assuming with the lack of knowledge on this issue its a WINDOWS usb/Canon R3 issue, if the canon folk ever looked at their boards we might have some insights.

Can you turn on extensions and go to detail view in File Explorer and show us what you see for the MP4 file in File Explorer (without doing properties)? Also, if you have a much smaller MP4 file, what does that look like in File Explorer? What program are you using to show the size of the file that you reported?

Have you used a card reader to transfer the file from the memory card to your computer hard drive? As far as I know, you have not answered that question. It appears that you are using a USB cable to transfer the file. Is that correct?

No need to buy a card reader as it is just another waste just to see if it works
