EOS R10 "Display Simulation" choices given in manual don't agree with camera choices

Mike79

Hi, folks!

Canon instructions page D185-096 shows the option of "Exposure + D of F", but my R10 does not have that choice available,

nothing about D of F.

My desire was to always have the D of F displayed in the viewfinder/LCD, instead of having to depress the tiny button within the AF-MF switch, which is awkward.

I've the latest version 1.5.0 installed.

Any solutions in mind?

Many thanks in advance!

Hi Mike,

Not all lenses support the Exposure + Depth of Field, this is particularly true for older EF and EF-S lenses.

There's a list of lenses that are compatible on this page https://cam.start.canon/en/H001/supplement_0030.html

I just tried my EF 135mm f/2L on the EOS R10 with the Canon EF to EOS R adapter and sure enough the exposure + depth of field option is not shown.

Apparently, the R10 and my awesome (check out the many reviews) Tokina ATX-i  f2.8 100 mm FF are among those combinations which "Don't play well together".   Children will be children, I guess...

You're always in my orbit, ready, willing and very capable of answering my questions - and I truly, greatly appreciate it!

Thank you for the praise Mike, I’m glad I’m able to help and bring a little clarity. These are complex cameras and the 1000 page manuals don’t always help
