EOS R10 30 Minute Limit

I am recording via micro HDMI to camlink 4k to Macbook m1 pro using OBS. Although there is clean HDMI, after 30 minutes the R10 shuts off.

All the power saving settings are turned off.

How can this be fixed?

Are you recording at a high frame rate?  If so, video recording is automatically shut off once 30 minutes is reached.  See page 364 of the User Manual.

I am recording from OBS using clean HDMI at 24fps 1080p

high frame rate is off.

Ah, see page 413 in the user manual link posted above.  That's calling out a special setting to enable to allow recording more than 30 minutes via the HDMI out.

I would first try it with all power settings at their factory defaults.

Did you read up on page 413? It has the specifics on what to do.

Good news, the hdmi setting with both selected fixed the black out issue.

However at about the 45m mark iirc, the frame rate drops significantly. Does this have something to do with autofocus?

Ive tried using multiple capture cards, now using ATEM Mini Pro, but after 30+ minutes it seems the camera lags with and without AF. Is this due to overheating?
