I'm using my ipad as an external monitor for my EOS R using the mini HDMI port of the camera and a SeeMo iOS/HDMI Smartphone Adapter . When I do this, I get LiveView on my ipad . but the screen on my camera shuts off and so my only display is through my ipad. Is there a way to get both LiveView on my camera's screen

Tareq,
Try checking your HDMI settings. On my camera, if it is set to HDMI with info, the camera screen will go off.

Greetings,
You'll want to do as stevet1 suggests and review your camera settings:
See page 251
We have no idea how a SeeMo adapter would work with the R. You may want to contact the vendor and see what outputs it supports.
