EOS M6 "Lens error" message

Chased

My m6 kit lens has error problem that said “lens error, automatically restart” when turned on. Anyone know how to fix this? Or is this a hardware problem?

Yes. If it is locked like that and you still get the error message I would say the lens has failed since a different lens works OK on camera.

Do you have a second lens to try? Is it a retractable lens? Maybe not extending fully and locking?

I have that lens for my M200. Sometimes the slide lock that needs to be operated to extend the lens doesn’t snap into position to lock lens open.

Oh i just realized what retractable means! But it looks like it extends in and out normally

Check that the switch is locked when it extends. Shouldn't be able to retract it if it is locked.
