I would have thought that clean HDMI is a function of the actual camera hardware itself and thus perhaps a firmware update added it?
It could also be that the M50 always had clean HDMI out and that Canon didn't include that in the online documentation?

Is this an M50 or an M50II, Canon does suggest the II for HDMI streaming.

The Webcam Utility doesn't use HDMI--it primarily uses the Micro-USB cable to output its viewscreen feed, and the Webcam Utility cleans the feed through it. If you were using, say, an Elgato Camlink 4K with the original M50 the HDMI is not a clean feed while the M50 Mark II is.
