My phone connects to the wifi, but my camera doesnt seem to realize it.

Hi speroni1,

I'm sorry to hear your camera and phone aren't connecting. Err11 is an error shown when the network connection isn't completing.

We would recommend clearing the wifi settings on the camera and setting up a fresh connection to your phone. To do that press the Menu button on the camera, go to the Network tab, select Clear Wireless Settings, and choose okay. That will clear out all of the saved wifi settings on the camera. Once you've done that go back to the Network tab and Enable Wi-Fi Settings. When you do that the camera will have you set a Nickname for the camera. Make sure to add or change a few characters in the Nickname so it is different from what it was before. Sometimes if the Nickname isn't updated the phone won't treat it as a new connection.

Once the Nickname is set try these steps to re-establish the connection:

1) First the Canon Camera Connect App should be installed on the phone. Once installed don't open it or have it running in the background, we just need it installed at this point.

2) On the camera press the menu button and go to the Network tab in the Menu and select Wi-Fi/Bluetooth Connection.

3) Next choose Connect to Smartphone, then select Add a Device to Connect to, choose Do Not Display on the next screen, and then select Connect via Wi-Fi.

4) Now the camera should be showing an SSID and an Password. Leave that screen on the camera.

5) On your smartphone pull up nearby wifi networks, you'll see one that matches the SSID listed on the camera. Select that and when it asks for a password enter the Password listed on the back of the camera.

6) Once the phone is on the network open the Canon Camera Connect app. Once the app is open in the top left will be a camera icon with a plus sign. Touch that icon, select your camera model, choose Wi-Fi Connection, put a check mark next to “Camera is now ready to connect”, and touch Next. On the next screen the app will detect the camera and show a pop up showing it detected the camera.

7) In the prompt select the name of the camera and now on the back of the camera it will ask if you want to connect to the smart phone. Select Okay and the connection will be established.
