While Steve is absolutely correct, and has answered your specific question, I would caution that if you are considering purchasing such a lens, instead consider an alternative, such as the EF-S 55-250, which is often paired with the standard EF-S 18-55. It has better optics and, significantly, Image Stabilization, to make hand-held shooting with a longer focal length more likely to be sharp by avoiding camera shake.
If you really want the range, and can afford it, consider the EF 70-300 IS USM MkII, which you could get from KEH.COM - they rate the conditions of their gear and provide a warranty - they are a trusted reseller. That lens has far better optics, better build and image stabilization, plus super fast focusing. See my review of the 70-300 series:

Simply put, your camera can use ANY EF or EF-S lens ever made.
