EOS 6D Mark II Viewfinder/LCD Screen Toggle

Hi All,

Canon 6D II

Is there a setting where you can look at the LCD screen initially then move to the view finder where it senses the closeness of the eye, activates view finder and then turns LCD screen off to conserve battery. I do not see an external sensor for this but thought I'd ask.

Thanks

Ken

Note that the 6D does not have an electronic viewfinder, so you *have* to turn the LCD live view image off to see the image in the viewfinder...

I think the functionality to automatically blank the rear LCD is already built into the camera,  It is just not specifically associated with proximity to the OVF.

You can blank the screen by pressing the [INFO] button until it turns off.  The screen can also be set to blank itself when you start the metering system when you half-press the shutter.

Of course, neither of the above methods work when the cameras is in Live View Mode.
