I have a Canon EOS 2000D which seems to be stuck on MF. I’ve pressed Q and gone through the process of choosing ONE SHOT and pressing SET but doesn’t seem to work. When I go back to display it still shows MF. Can anyone out there help me?

What lens are you using? There should be an AF/MF switch on the lens itself. Although, some lenses are manual only.

I’ve been using the Canon 50mm and I’ve changed the AM/FM on both body and lens in the hope that would correct it.

Which Canon EF 50mm. Please list the full name of the lens. Canon has released different revisions over the years.

Not following your mention of AF/MF on the body. What exactly are you changing on the body?

On the screen it says MF and when I press the Q to change it to ONE SHOT I press set but when it goes back to the display it still says MF.

Apologies all. I seem to have found out where I was going wrong.

Glad to hear that! Please let us know what you did to correct it so that others who might be encountering the same issue can resolve it, too!

It was after many attempts that if I set the lens to AF and the camera to M it allowed me to change the AF operation to ONE SHOT, AI FOCUS OR AI SERVO which is what I was trying to do.
