Copy or Transfer Custom Shooting Modes to Another R6mkII?

Robert_NCSU
Apprentice

I’m tech and instructional support for communication media production students at NC State University in Raleigh, NC.

We acquired 4 R6 mkIIs for our intro video production students, and will purchase 2 to 4 more.

I plan to determine a good combination of settings and register them in C1 - C3. I’m hoping that I can then copy/transfer the settings to the other cameras.

Is this possible?

Thanks for advice or suggestions!

Hi Robert,

Sorry for the disappointment, I truly wish the answer was different too. It usually takes me about 5 minutes to reconfigure my EOS R6 Mark II with my preferred settings if I reset it for a tuition session.

If you can mark my reply as the solution then it helps others to find solved questions.

Unfortunately there are only a handful of Canon EOS cameras that can save the camera settings to a card and then load that set of camera settings in to another camera of the same model. The EOS R6 Mark II is not one of them.

The following cameras have the camera settings save/load feature.

  • EOS-1D Mark III / EOS-1D Mark IV
  • EOS-1Ds Mark III
  • EOS-1D X, EOS-1D X Mark II, EOS-1D X Mark III
  • EOS-1D C
  • EOS R5 with firmware version 1.3.0 or later
  • EOS R5 Mark II
  • EOS R3
  • EOS R1

This is partly due to the potential purchasers of such camera being likely to buy multiple cameras of the same model, or regularly need to make use of loaned kit for specific assignments. This allows the photographer to setup their own camera, save settings, and then pick up a loan of the same model and quickly get it ready for working as they prefer. However for many years I have requested to Canon contacts in Europe to add the save / load settings to EOS 5D Mark IV, EOS R6 and EOS R6 Mark II cameras.

Brian,

Thanks for your quick, definitive, and disappointing reply  ;-}. At least now I can shift to the necessary solution.
