Canon Utility 3.18.5 is not working reliably when tethering my 5DsR camera. I've been using the Canon Utility without any issue up until I recently started using a 5DsR camera last January 2024. I can't get the app to start up without getting the error message that something else is trying to access the camera. I noticed that Prview app on Mac will need to be closed, and not running in order to startup the remote shooting window. But that doesn't solve the issue of the remote shooting window from not appearing consistently.
I called Canon in Virginia, told them that the software download page shows the to top most utility ver 3.18.5 is recommended at the top of the list but is NOT the most recent version 3.18.11 ! What is that about?
I updated the firmware on the camera to 1.1.14 which didn't help the instability issues with tethered shooting with Utility 3.18.5
