I have an older Canon SX50HS... (File Transfers)
which I love. Novice here. At this stage on my life, I am not prepared to purchase a new camera. I recently had to purchase a new computer and it does not have a DVD drive. I thought it would be possible to transfer the files on the Solutions disk over to my external hard drive and then upload to the new computer however, I don't want to do it unless I know that it will positively work. Is there anything I should be cautious about?

Thanks for joining the conversation, Gnome! Rather than fiddle with external drives, you can simply download the latest version of all of the software that you'd normally find on the accompanying CD directly from the Canon USA web site. Just go HERE to get everything you need for free.
Hope this helps!
