Canon R50 Audio Not Recording

I bought a new R50 and set it up for video like my other cameras, took it on a shoot and when I dumped the card, there was NO audio, only static.  Luckily, I used a LAV but now I've got nothing to sync audio.  I hooked up a shotgun mic to it and it recorded audio fine.  Is it a glitch?

Greetings ,

What were the recording conditions? Were you at a concert or venue with super loud audio.  Did you check your recording levels?

It was an interview in an office.  I didn't check levels because I wasn't planning on using the audio from the camera anyway. Luckily I was able to line up the external audio and video together in post, but I'd still like the brand new camera to work as it should.

Greetings,

Have you tried recording again?  Does it work?

What kind of media are you using to capture to?  Any issues saving photos.  I would suggest resetting the camera's main settings, also its custom settings (if applicable).  Then retest. If it works it was likely a setting you missed, etc.  If It happens again, using a freshly formatted full size media card, I'd suspend the camera
