Canon R5 filling up SD card too fast

I recently began using a canon R5 but for some reason every time I use it, it fills up my SD card way too fast.  I am filming in 4K-U, 29.97P, and IPB (standard).  High Frame Rate and 4K HQ mode are both disabled and yes all my cards were formatted.

During my first video project using it, it filled up a 64gb SD card after 4-5 minuets of video footage, which is insane!  I was filming with 2 cameras and the other let me film the entire project and only used up a tenth of the space.  I have never had a camera fill up storage that fast before.  Is there a setting I'm missing and is there anything else I can do to fix this?  Thanks!

The EOS R5 has a choice of compression methods for movies.

  • ALL-I is the least compressed, and requires the most card space for a minute of movie
  • IPB is compressed more and requires less card space than ALL-I for a minute of movie
  • IPB (Light) is a more heavily compressed version of IPB, and uses the least space for a minute of footage.

I think you should check which format is used in both cameras.
