Canon 1D Mark II N - SD card will not format

Canon 1D Mark II N - SD card will not format.

Bought used through B&H as a faster shutter speed for outdoor sports. 

I have tried to manually format the card and it appears to be fine. I have tried the card in my 5D Mark IV body, and it was functional. Working cards would not work.

What size is the card, the EOS-1D Mark II N is quite old so probably doesn't support large capacity cards. Maybe limited to 32GB at max.

Brian is right.

The specs only list an SD card, no SDHC, SDXC or SDUC.

Quick Follow up - Would the CF II card have any limitations to be aware of? For example, the SD is limited to 2GB. Would the CF card be size-limited, or would there be a conflict with write speed compatibilities?
