Cannot select AF Points on Rebel T6

bleach027

I just purchased a Rebel T6, but am a long time user of Canon cameras, and, for the life of me, on this camera I cannot figure out how to select an individual AF Point when focusing. I have my Autofocus set to Quick Mode AF, which makes the AF points appear, but I am unable to select them. My grid button in the upper right by the magnification icons doesn't do anything, which, if I remember correctly, is the button you use to change the AF point. Is my camera broken?

Thank you for your response. However, that still will not allow me to select the individual AF points.

You mean when you change the dial it won't let you select different AF points?

Yes, nothing happens on the screen, the AF points just remain grayed out.

And the top icon is highlighted?

Are you using One Shot AF Mode?

Hello,

Did you get any good solution, I think I am facing similar kind of problem.

With this body, you really only want to use the center AF point, anyway.  The other points can be useful for AI Servo shooting with all AF points enabled.  When all AF points are enabled, you will not see which AF points has an AF lock.
