Make sure WIFI is off.

Try a new cable and make sure it is not a power-only abomination.

When in doubt, punt and get a card reader - your computer may already have one.

KJ4,

As kvbarkley said, it may be a problem with your cable.

If you plug your interface cable into one of the USB ports on your computer, and look in your Windows Explorer, does the camera show up as a device or drive like a thumb drive would?

If not, it may be a problem with either the 1) port on your camera, 2) the cable, or 3) the USB port on your computer.

If you do plug a thumb drive into that port on your computer, does it show up?

Does your computer have more than one USB port? If so, I would try a different port on the computer first.

If that doesn't work, my manual recommends a certain interface cable. I got one for my camera, and I've never had a bit of trouble.

If the port on your computer works with something like a thumb drive, you might try a disk reader, as kvbarkley suggested, or does your computer have a memory card port?  Many laptops have one, but I don't know if you are using a laptop or a desktop.

If changing USB ports on your computer and trying a different cable don't work, you may have a problem with the port on your camera, and you might need to have someone look at it, and go the card reader route for the time being.

Just get a card reader and move on.
