I'm looking for purchase a suitable Canon camera, but I need it to connect to an external monitor (not a desktop) for filming. I also need the external monitor to stay on "while" filming, not shut off. I was told by a "tech associate" that the Canon EOS 7D Mark II can do this. I need to know (from the pros at Canon) if this is true? Can this camera connect AND support the dual videpo capabilities of an external monitor? Thank you.

Any DSLR will shut itself off. If you need a video camera, then look at the Cinema EOS C100 before they are all gone.
