Jpg's YES, but not the CR2's. If you want to stick with CS 2 you'll need to convert the CR2's to DNG's first (Adobe's RAW) and work on those.

Yes you can. But if you can buy a 1Dx, you can purchase Photoshop Element to max out the potential of your camera.

If you can aford a 1Dx you can afford CS6! CS6 will do anything you ever wanted to do.
